I first realised that things were beginning to go well with my artwork when I heard people ask if Vince Ray was American or dead. I replied that I didn't think I was either. This was when the low brow art movement was just beginning and I got swept up in that due to the comic work I was producing with images of hot rods, girl gangs, Mexican wrestlers and all things cool that I'd grown up with. Rock and roll music has always been a big part of my life and it found it's way into my artwork to such an extent that I don't separate my music and art interests. I like to experiment with both of 'em down in the lab and count myself  lucky to keep busy with this each day.
